✅ Visa-Free Entry: Some nationalities can stay for up to 30 days without a visa.
✅ Visa on Arrival (VOA): Available for most travelers at international airports and land borders.
✅ E-Visa: Online application available for select nationalities.
✅ Embassy Visa: Required for long stays or if VOA/e-Visa is not available for your nationality.

Tourist Visa (Visa on Arrival & E-Visa)

  • Valid for 30 days
  • Can be extended once for another 30 days
  • Available at airports & land borders

  • Requires an invitation from a Lao company

         Student Visa

  • Issued for students enrolled in Lao institutions
  • Requires approval from the Lao Ministry of Education

Visa on Arrival (VOA)

  1. Arrive at a designated entry point (e.g., Vientiane, Luang Prabang, Pakse airports)
  2. Fill out the visa application form
  3. Provide a passport-sized photo
  4. Pay the visa fee in USD or local currency
  5. Receive your visa and enter Laos

  • Airports: Vientiane (Wattay), Luang Prabang, Pakse
  • Land Borders: Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, China

 E-Visa Application (Recommended)

  1. Apply online at Laos eVisa website
  2. Fill out the application form
  3. Upload a passport photo and required documents
  4. Pay the visa fee online
  5. Receive the approved e-Visa via email
  6. Show the printed e-Visa at immigration upon arrival

🕒 Processing time: 3-5 business days

 Embassy Visa Application

  1. Visit the nearest Lao embassy or consulate
  2. Submit the visa application form & passport
  3. Provide passport-sized photos & supporting documents
  4. Pay the visa fee
  5. Collect your passport with the visa stamped
